Ad Altare Dei Counselor Training
A practicing Catholic who is approved by his pastor may counsel a Boy Scout in his quest to obtain the Ad Altare Dei Award. However, the counselor needs to attend a qualified training session. This training is provided twice a year by the Detroit Area Catholic Committee on Scouting. See the registration form and map. |
99th Annual Recognition
Program
The 2009 Annual Recognition Program is sponsored by the Catholic Committee on Scouting and the Catholic Youth Organization of the Detroit Diocese. All youth who have earned a religious award in Boy Scouting, Girl Scouting, and Campfire during the 2008 will be recognized with a certificate. As part of the celebration, the St. George Award is presented to the deserving Boy Scout Leaders and the Elizabeth Ann Seton and St. Anne Awards are presented to the deserving Girl Scout Leaders. This year's program will take place on Sunday, March 4, 2009 with a Mass starting at 2:30 pm. |

A volunteer is nominated for this award by his peers after
completing significant service
helping
the Catholic Youth in Scouting. An application may be obtained from your district CCS Rep. or anyone on our roster or downloaded from http://www.nccs-bsa.org/pdf/StGeorge8.5x11.pdf. The completed form must be mailed to Henry Vassel, CYO Office, 305 Michigan Ave., Detroit, MI 48226. The awards will be presented at the Annual Award Program in March 2009. |
